Our impressions of the Foundation. Last days in Kathmandu
Illuminated by a single candle in the middle of power failure we have to tell our feelings about the foundation Shechen Karuna. After ten days telling us of the humanitarian work of this small foundation. We must recognize that the facilities we were surprised by how well equipped and supplied. While it is true that there remain many things can be said that the clinic is working properly. In these days we have seen people of all walks of life come to the clinic. According to the possibilities of patients are charged a full treatment and some pay only until they can. The most disadvantaged are free of course. The hospice clinic treats terminally ill patients with palliative care and the most humane treatment possible. Try to avoid as best as possible as the rooms are similar to a cold hospital. All rooms have beautiful paintings on the walls, all related to Buddhist philosophy and serene rural scenes. We talked
the director of schools of bamboo. Uttam
Sanjel is a happy man, active and optimistic. In the next years plans to open four more schools in the south of the country and its idea is to build a total of 75. The idea of \u200b\u200bthese schools is to enable children from disadvantaged families to go to school. For the modest price of 100 rupees per month, 1 € these children may have access to education in other ways they would be impossible.
The Karuna Foundation Shechen works with this project by building schools and then delivers them to Uttam to run them. He says Matthieu that 20% of children do not pay and it seems surprising and commendable to educate for 100 rupees a month.
The rest of the projects we are away, Matthieu has the kindness and patience to show us some pictures and talks about the progress of those in India and Tibet . We are impressed especially those in Tibet by the difficulty of carrying out and the beauty of the landscape. The foundation Karuna working properly, at least that's the impression transmitted to us. Matthieu tells us that at first no one took them seriously and that 90% of Ong disappears before ten years after its creation . Karuna Shechen has already served ten and still here.
Fortunately there more foundations like working, there is so much need, so much poverty and disorder in the country that aid is required. We call the attention other Foundation has opened a kitchen for the poor, his name Rogpa . A Swiss Ong very interesting ...
Our bullets are gone, left for us to package and return home, family and friends await.
remain ten to fifteen days to see us .........
But as you get home is the great unknown .....
